Access, decided per project — and easier to reason about
Project-based access as a fourth scoping level, permits anyone can request but only the right people approve, and a permissions screen that finally explains itself.
QuickInspect already scoped what people see by company, department and contractor. This release adds the fourth level — project — and then spends the rest of its effort making the whole model legible, because a permission system nobody can explain is one nobody trusts.
Access, decided per project
You can now decide per person which projects they work with. Give a team member access to additional projects, or limit a site manager to just the sites they actually run. Company, department, contractor and project access work together: someone sees a record only when it clears every level.
The control adapts to who you are editing. For a manager who currently sees the whole company, picking projects limits them. For a team member who currently sees only their initial project, picking projects gives them more. The screen says which of the two it is doing, in those words, for the person whose name is on it — no interpretation required.
Permits: requesting is not approving
Drafting a permit is really requesting one, so it is now open to everyone by default. Approval is where the authority sits, and it now checks that the approver actually belongs to the work: the same department or contractor, unless they oversee the whole company.
Suspending a permit and running an LMRA check stay open to everyone on purpose. Those are the actions that stop work or add a safety check — nobody should ever be watching a hazard they are not allowed to interrupt.
Both halves are configurable. If you want only KeyUsers to draft, or you want experienced Standard users to approve, that is a setting in Company Settings, not a support request.
A permissions screen that explains itself
Feature Access now states the thing it previously left you to infer: granting a role says a person may do something, and their company, project, department and contractor scope then decides what they actually see. Eight rarely-touched categories moved behind an "advanced" toggle — unless you have already customized them, in which case they stay in view.
More than one owner
Company owners are the only people who can change permissions, module availability and billing access. Until now that was permanently whoever created the company. You can now appoint deputies, so your organization is not one holiday away from being unable to change its own settings. The last owner cannot be removed.
