Responsible persons that own their units
Every department and every contractor in QuickInspect can name responsible persons. Until now that was mostly a label. With 1.18.0 it becomes the accountability layer of your organisation: responsibles own the open work in their unit, receive their own weekly view, get the approvals that need them - and the whole map can be kept in sync from your HR system.
Only people who can act
Only Standard and Key User accounts can be named responsible for a department or contractor. A responsible is assigned to incidents in their unit, receives the training and certificate-expiry digests and reviews HSE award nominations - so an account that cannot edit any of these can no longer end up holding that role. The pickers show who is eligible; anyone named before this change stays visible and can be replaced.
Overdue work finds its owner
Overdue actions and findings escalate to the unit's responsible persons after 1, 7 and 30 days - exactly once per stage, never as a flood. The Monday weekly email gains a Your Units section: open actions (overdue ones called out), open incidents, trainings and certificates expiring in the next 30 days, and pending award reviews for the units you are responsible for.
Two tiers of responsibility
A Standard responsible acts as the line manager - incidents, actions, findings. A Key User responsible is the HSE expert: permit-to-work authorisation requests and risk-assessment reviews are now routed to the nearest Key User responsible up the hierarchy. Who may approve has not changed - only who is asked. Permit drafts show who the authorisation was routed to.
Contractors need a site lead (optional)
A company can require that a contractor has an accountable responsible before new permits are issued to it. Contractors without one are flagged with a "No site lead" chip in the Attributes list.
Keep the org chart in sync with HR
Enterprise tenants can push their department tree and unit heads straight from the HR system - as CSV files run by QuickInspect, or over the provisioning API. A manager who is not registered yet is remembered and takes over automatically on first login, and a unit is never left without a responsible silently: the nearest Key User is told, and a company can choose whether such a change is blocked or only warned about.
Your choice of notifications
Four new switches in the notification settings let each person decide which of these they receive: unstaffed-unit alerts, overdue-action escalations, the weekly units digest, and permit-approval requests.

- Company owners can reach the Languages settings again.
- Both responsible-person pickers show whether a unit is managed by HR sync, and an edit hands it back to manual control.
