The permit on your lock screen, the hazards on your phone

A permit only protects people if they know where it stands. 1.21 puts it on the lock screen of everyone signed on to it: how long is left, and the moment it is suspended, the words "stop work". It also brings the AI that marks hazards on a photo, and turns them into corrective actions, to the iPhone and Android apps: the phone is where the photo gets taken. Around those two: easier permits, training that is waiting for new people on their first day, a checklist that walks a new company through setup, and clearer screens everywhere.

Live permit cards

Once a worker signs on to an active permit, the permit stays on their lock screen: a Live Activity on iPhone, an ongoing notification on Android. It counts down the time left, so nobody has to open the app to check whether the work is still covered.

If the permit is suspended, the card switches straight to "Suspended – stop work" and shows the reason. It follows the permit when it is extended, closed or signed off. Live permit cards are part of the iPhone and Android apps.

Mark hazards on the photo, now on your phone

Switch on Mark hazards on the photo and the AI draws a numbered box around every hazard it sees, coloured by your own risk matrix. One tap turns those hazards into corrective actions, each with a suggested fix, a priority and a due date, for you to check before anything is created. It works from incidents, inspections and the HSE Support chat.

Marking arrived in the web app in 1.19 and turning hazards into actions in 1.20. With 1.21 both are in the App Store and Google Play apps, right where the photos are taken.

Permits

Edit a draft. Change a draft permit's scope and times instead of cancelling it and starting over.

Know when it ends. Active permits show when they end, and the crew and the issuer get a reminder when a re-check is due.

A QR card for the work area. Print a one-page card with the permit number, the zone and a QR code. Scanning it opens the permit so people can sign on.

Notifications that lead somewhere. Tapping a permit notification, on your phone or in the notification centre, opens that permit.

Sign with your finger when you activate a permit on your phone. On a desktop screen the permit detail uses two columns, and the permit list filters by status in one place.

Training and team

Roles on the invitation. When you invite someone, pick their worker roles. The trainings those roles require are already waiting when they first log in.

Publish from the builder. A training can be published right from the builder, which also shows whether your latest changes are saved.

Reminders before training expires. Send an expiry reminder for one worker or for many at once. Nobody gets more than one a week.

Assign training from a worker's page. Open the person, choose Assign training, and pick one or several trainings at once.

The training hub shows how many trainings are due and overdue, with a short guide the first time you open it. And a cloned induction gets its own copies of the slide images, so changing a picture in the copy leaves the original untouched.

Clearer screens

Lists that show their shape. While a list loads, you see its layout in place, and the content appears right where it belongs. If something cannot load, the screen says so and offers Retry.

Your work stays put. Long forms and settings warn you before unsaved changes are lost, and point to the field that needs fixing.

Easier to find your way. The More menu is grouped and searchable, and company settings have one place. Choose your language on the login and sign-up screens, before you have an account.

Locked features say why. Where a feature is not included in your plan, the app tells you what unlocks it.

A setup checklist for new companies

A new company sees Get your company ready on Home: choose your primary framework, create the first project, invite a colleague, and add a first inspection template, permit template and training. Each step shows where to do it, and the checklist can be hidden for now. Invitations that are still open are listed on the Users page.

AI you can follow

Every AI feature shows its progress while it works and can be stopped. As your company gets close to its AI limit, you get a warning before you run out, and a usage ring shows where you stand.

Weekly summary links

Every action, asset and inspection in the weekly summary email now links straight to it. On a phone, the link opens the app.

More of the app in your language

Many screens that still showed English are now translated into French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Polish and Romanian, including AI usage messages, confirmation dialogs and the labels workers see. Hazardous-material and risk-assessment notifications arrive in the recipient's language.

Smaller things you will notice

• Finishing an incident investigation goes through even without a connection.
• The incident report sent by scanning your QR code asks where and when it happened, and offers your company's own classifications.
• Inspection templates have their own management page.
• Evaluate many legal register entries in one pass, and add a note when you close an objective.
• Create an action without choosing a project first.
• Register filters are remembered, and a 12-month period filter reaches back to older ranges.
• A compact assets list on phones.
• A group site briefing keeps the attendees who have already signed, with search and select-all.
• The KPI dashboard fills in section by section.
• In the HSE Support chat, a reply that arrives late stays in the session you asked it in, and photos keep their natural size.
• Exporting a permit PDF always ends with the file or a clear message.
• Tag chips and version badges in Document Control are easy to read in dark mode.
