Corporate report templates: lock your design, let the team fill in the rest

Template locking and versioning turn the report designer into a corporate-template system — plus vessel registry & survey fields, smarter PDFs, and clearer report lists.

This release turns the report designer into a corporate-template system: design a report layout once, lock it down, and let your team fill in content without ever breaking the design.

Template locking

Every element now has a single lock control with two levels. Design lock freezes an element's position, size and configuration while keeping its content editable — perfect for letterhead-style templates where surveyors type into fixed boxes. Full lock makes an element completely read-only, for mandatory wording that must survive every report untouched.

On top of that, the template settings offer a structure lock for the whole template: no adding, removing, moving or resizing of elements or pages, no styling changes — only content stays editable. Locks bind everywhere, including AI edits, and locked elements show a clean, focused panel with just the fields you're allowed to fill.

Template authors keep control: Admins and KeyUsers can adjust locks while editing a template-based report and re-save the result as a new template version.

Template versioning

Templates now carry a version number that increments on every save, with earlier versions preserved. The template picker shows each template's version, when it was last updated and by whom — so you always know you're building on the right revision.

New templates start from your company branding (color, font, name, footer), and merge fields like report number, date, vessel name and company details resolve automatically in both the editor preview and the exported PDF.

Vessel registry, survey & damage details

Products now track the fields marine surveys and insurance reports need: class notation, IMO number, call sign, flag, survey participants, survey location and date, surveys performed, damage type, damage cause and damage assessment. They're available in the product forms, in the report designer's Product Info Table — and AI Fill from Document extracts them straight from a photographed survey or insurance form.

Smarter PDFs

A table of contents longer than one page previously came out blank — it now flows across as many pages as it needs, with your report header and footer on each. Footer page numbers always reflect the real page count, and text styles, fonts, tables and placeholders render in the PDF exactly as they appear on the canvas.

Clearer report lists

Every report card now shows whether it was created with the new report Designer or the legacy editor, alongside its publication and PDF status.

Also in this release

Failed team invitations now tell you exactly why (expired link, wrong company, seat limit…), invitation links stay valid for 14 days, and password prompts no longer appear for accounts that sign in with Apple or Google. Plus a series of security hardening measures and stability fixes throughout the app.

Design once, lock it, and let the reports write themselves.
