Exporting and Sharing
Generate professional reports and export your inspection data from QuickInspect and YachtInspect.
Export Types
The app supports four export types:
1. PDF Report
The standard export format. Generates a fully formatted PDF from your report design, including all elements you have placed in the Report Designer (text, images, findings tables, cover pages, signatures, and more).
2. Photo Report
A specialized export focused on photo documentation. Generates a PDF that emphasizes the images captured during your inspection.
3. Final Report
A finalized version of your report intended for delivery to clients or stakeholders. This represents the completed, approved version of your inspection documentation.
4. Excel Export
Exports your findings data as a spreadsheet. Useful for data analysis, filtering, and integration with other tools.
Note
All exports are generated from the data and design you have created in the app. The Report Designer controls the layout and content of PDF-based exports.
Generating Reports
To generate a report:
- Navigate to the Reports tab in the bottom navigation
- Select the report you want to export
- Choose the export type (PDF Report, Photo Report, Final Report, or Excel Export)
- The app generates the file
The Reports tab lists all generated reports, providing a central place to manage your export history.
Report Designer and Exports
The Report Designer is a WYSIWYG editor that controls what appears in your exported PDFs. It supports 13 element types:
- text, heading, image, htmlTemplate, divider, table, tableOfContents, coverPage, findingsTable, executiveSummary, signatureBlock, imageTable, productInfoTable
Elements can be positioned using drag-and-drop, and you can preview the report in real time before exporting.
Tip
Use the real-time preview in the Report Designer to check your layout before generating a PDF. This saves time by catching formatting issues early.
Sharing Reports
After generating a PDF, you can share it using your device's standard sharing options:
- Email the PDF to clients or team members
- Share via messaging apps
- Save to cloud storage services
- Print directly from the device
Tips for Better Exports
- Check the preview before generating to catch layout issues
- Use cover pages for a professional first impression
- Include a table of contents for longer reports
- Add signature blocks for formal sign-off
- Use the executive summary element to provide a quick overview at the start of the report
