AI Hazard Marking
A site photo shows what is there. It does not show what is wrong. Switch on Mark hazards on the photo when you analyse a picture, and QuickInspect's AI draws a numbered box around every hazard it finds — then turns those hazards into corrective actions in one tap.

Marking the hazards
Open any photo on a finding, an incident or an inspection, start the AI analysis, and switch on Mark hazards on the photo before you run it. One AI call returns both the written analysis and a box for every hazard in it.
- Numbered boxes. Each hazard gets a box and a number drawn onto the photo itself, so the picture travels with its findings into reports and PDFs.
- Your risk matrix decides the colour. The AI rates each hazard for likelihood and severity, and the box takes the colour of that rating on your company's matrix: green for low, amber for medium, red for high. A 4x4 SAFETEE matrix and a 5x5 matrix have different cut-offs, and the colours follow whichever your company uses.
- The numbers are explained. A key is added to the photo's short description — one line per hazard with its name, rating and risk level — so the numbers still make sense to whoever reads the record later. Your own description text is kept.
- The marked photo replaces the original on the record and in reports, and the original is never deleted.
Tip
Marking costs more AI budget than a text-only analysis, because the answer carries coordinates for every hazard. The switch says so, and your company's AI usage limit is checked before anything is spent.
If a box is wrong
Restore original photo puts the original back, removes the key from the description and forgets the marking. You can do it at any time from the photo, and run the analysis again afterwards — a re-run always marks the original, so boxes never pile up on boxes.
Turning hazards into actions
Under a finished marking, Turn the hazards into actions opens a review sheet with one corrective action per hazard:

Every row can be edited or unticked, and nothing is created until you press Create. Each row shows the hazard's numbered badge in its risk colour, so it is clear which box on the photo it answers.
Note
Creating actions needs the same rights as anywhere else in QuickInspect: the Actions module enabled for your company, permission to add findings, and an active project. Without them the marking still works — only the actions button is hidden.
Straight from the HSE Support chat
You do not need an incident, an inspection or an action to start. In HSE Support, attach a photo from your camera or gallery, switch on Mark hazards on the photo and send it — no message needed.
- The marked photo comes back as the assistant's reply, with the same numbered key.
- Nothing is replaced: the photo you sent stays in the conversation above it, so there is no restore step.
- Turn the hazards into actions works there too. Actions raised this way carry the marked photo, but are not linked to an incident or inspection, because a chat photo belongs to neither.
What the AI sees
The photo is straightened and scaled down before it is analysed, so a picture taken sideways is marked the right way up, and the boxes are then drawn onto the full-resolution photo. Hazards are ordered from highest to lowest risk, and at most ten are marked on one photo.
Warning
AI can miss a hazard or put a box in the wrong place. Treat it as a second pair of eyes for your inspectors, not a replacement for them — check the marked photo and the drafted actions before you keep them.
